Something interesting happened here while I was was working late to put the finishing touches on some projects.\u00a0 As is often the case when I\u2019m on deadline, I marked up a delivery menu with my dinner order.\u00a0 I have three or four favorite spots (all of which deliver, of course) that serve burgers, pizza, and some variation on Asian cuisine.\u00a0 This particular night I chose the pizza menu.\u00a0 As I was perusing the options, I was able to think about what I usually order.\u00a0 Salads with grilled chicken, with dressing on the side?\u00a0 What has happened to me?\u00a0 Ten years ago there would have been three pizzas, most of them topped by all the available meat and cheese options.\u00a0 Well, not anymore.\u00a0 These day I\u2019m watching what I eat.\u00a0 I\u2019m limiting carbs.\u00a0 I\u2019m spinning and holding poses and training for races.\u00a0 I\u2019m getting trail mix (not Cheetos) from the minimart.\u00a0 I\u2019m wearing tapered shirts and eating superfoods, even though I don\u2019t quite know what either of those means.\u00a0 I\u2019m getting ready for \u201cbathing suit season.\u201d\u00a0 I am, in a word, body-conscious.<\/p>\n

A small price to pay for looking good at a this age\u2026even if I\u2019m always hungry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
