If you\u2019ve had a relatively loving family background, remember the delight in just being a kid.\u00a0 No thoughts of comparisons; times of playing without thoughts of performing.\u00a0 There was an unconscious delight in just being you.\u00a0 If you\u2019re family background was less-than-optimal, remember what you hopefully learned in school\u2026listen, tell the truth, and be kind.<\/p>\n
Often as life happens we forget about these lessons.\u00a0 The kindness in us is pushed out by our response and reaction to the unkindness we experience (deserved or not).\u00a0 And happiness is related by cold indifference.\u00a0 We stop hearing and seeing the beauty in life.\u00a0 Work becomes a chore or an escape from feeling\u2026all this grayness of life as we know it because we\u2019ve become self-centered rather than looking outward for places to show kindness.\u00a0 When we\u2019re kind (especially unexpectedly kind) what is the feeling inside?\u00a0 Warmth and a sense of goodness.\u00a0 The world is a better place because we\u2019ve helped make it so.<\/p>\n
An inside warmth, a desire to be truthful becomes an integral part of us when we have personal integrity.\u00a0 What is integrity in your life?\u00a0 What would your life look like if it were unimpaired?\u00a0 No friends that drag you down, work that saps your energy, clothes that don\u2019t fit (the list goes on)\u2026.\u00a0 What would it take to commit to becoming free of impairments in your life?\u00a0 I either release friends who suck or take energy to try to retrain them to be my cheerleader, not my critic or counselor.\u00a0 I model what I need.\u00a0 Then I look at my home:\u00a0 I don\u2019t live in a mansion, so I get rid of everything that isn\u2019t essential.\u00a0 No magazines I haven\u2019t read in months.\u00a0 No chipped dishes and mismatched glasses.\u00a0 Organized drawers.\u00a0 Cleaned-out files.\u00a0 It\u2019s easy to access what I need when I need it.\u00a0 I\u2019ve hired a trained eye to assist me with my wardrobe, so that my clothes give me the freedom to be recognized and admired (every human being longs on some level for this).\u00a0 My clothes communicate who I am; I don\u2019t keep garments that don\u2019t fit or don\u2019t tell my authentic story.\u00a0 I dress for me\u2026the person I was made to be.<\/p>\n
Try stepping out into the world knowing and communicating who you are.\u00a0 Your dignity will create an aura around you, and you\u2019ll attract like people (people who honor and love themselves, and therefore can honor and love you).<\/p>\n
